They say that there is no cure for herpes but what about your feelings?

Herpes is very much affected by emotions. Yet no one is addressing the shame, guilt anger and frustration that comes along with a Herpes outbreak. Here are a few ways to deal with them as well as overcoming the virus through lifestyle changes, nutrition and holistic treatments and supplements.

A good nourishing diet, some mental hygiene, along with positive emotions can go a long way in reducing the frequency and severity of attacks.

How do you ask for help about curing herpes?

Maybe you’ve just found out you’ve got it, or
Maybe you heard that someone else has it.
Maybe you think you have it but are afraid to ask someone.

The truth is most people feel shame, embarrassment and fear whenever the “H” word or herpes virus is being discussed. Many people feel guilty and full of self-blame thinking that they “brought it on themselves”.

Others feel that they are being punished by God for their sexual activity. And still others fall into a depression and suffer from low self-esteem, wondering if anyone will want to date them or be sexual with them again.

These emotions create a great deal of stress in people and are just as important to treat as the physical symptoms of the virus. Why does “catching a virus” cause such emotional upheaval? It doesn’t happen with the flu virus or any other virus. But the Herpes virus has the stigma of sexual activity surrounding it. Time to find out what the thought forms around Herpes is and release them.

MYTH #1- Herpes is a very contagious virus. “I’ll pass this to everyone I know!”

FALSE You cannot transmit or catch the herpes virus through the air you breathe or from casual contact on toilet seats, chairs, and similar sorts of workplace or home contact. You can only catch herpes from skin-to-skin contact with an infected area. Herpes is not considered to be a virus that is easily caught like the common cold.

MYTH #2- Herpes is rare. “Why am I the only one who has this?”

FALSE 70-80% of people experience Oral Herpes (cold sores) by the age of ten years old. Most acquire the virus non-romantically as a baby or young child when they receive a kiss from an adult who carries the Oral Herpes virus. Genital Herpes affects about 25% of Americans. This means 1 in 4 people have it, with total numbers of carriers of the Genital Herpes virus exceeding 50 million people in America alone. You are not alone.

MYTH #3- The only way to catch herpes is by having sex. “I must sleep around too much.”

FALSE While being sexually promiscuous does carry increased risks of acquiring any STD, you can just as easily catch Herpes from a long term partner or in a monogamous relationship as you can from a one night stand. Again, 1 in 4 people in America have herpes and many are not aware that they do, or that they can shed virus even when they don’t have blisters. The virus can also remain dormant (or hidden) for years. Often people don’t know that they have it until they pass it to a partner.

Myth #4- Herpes is so dangerously contagious that having a baby is too risky. “I can never have a baby.”

FALSE! Women who have genital herpes before they become pregnant have a very low risk of transmitting the virus to their babies. Less than 0.1% of babies born in the United States each year get neonatal herpes. Fetuses are at highest risk if the mother gets first time genital herpes outbreaks late in the pregnancy. In all cases in which the mother either has genital herpes or develops it during pregnancy, it is essential to tell the treating physician or mid-wife so that all possible precautions.

TAKE A DEEP BREATH AND REMOVE THOSE UNTRUE THOUGHT PATTERNS FROM YOUR MIND

These 4 Myths often cause undue stress and worry in people who acquire the virus.

Five Stages of dealing with Herpes

Allow yourself to go through each stage & don’t get stuck there.

Stage #1: Denial- Ignoring symptoms and/or denying that they could be Herpes:

“It’s a pimple, it’s a rash, it’s jock itch, it’s an allergy, it’s nothing.”

Even after a diagnosis is made, people can remain in denial. “This isn’t happening to me.” Or, “This isn’t going to put a damper on my sex life!”

Stage #2: Anger- Angry, raging, or vengeful feelings to the person who gave it to you, to yourself, or to God (or your Higher Power):

“That %$I%! jerk! I want revenge!” — “Why did I ever sleep with him/her? I am such an idiot!” — “Why am I being punished?! Life is so unfair!”

Stage #3: Bargaining- Another form of denial, trying to making a deal
or promise with God (or your Higher Power) or yourself:

“God, if you can make it so these blisters aren’t Herpes, I’ll never have sex again, or I’ll give up drinking, or I’ll go to Church every week, or…”

Stage #4: Depression- Feeling sad, hopeless, and/or helpless, and having low self-esteem, sometimes accompanied by a change in eating, sleeping, exercise, work, and social habits:

“Life sucks. I’m worthless. I’m a bad person. I’m being punished for my sexual behavior. The pain will never go away. No one will ever want to be with me sexually again. What’s the point of even dating?”

Stage #5: Acceptance- Feelings of calm and being at peace. Being basically happy and hopeful about the future, and resuming normal eating, sleeping, exercise, work and social habits:

“I caught a virus. It can be a nuisance, and it is something I need to manage and be aware of, but I’m okay. I’m a good person. I don’t blame myself and I’m not being punished by God. I will be careful, take better care of myself, decrease my stress levels, and will approach life with a positive outlook. There are many people with Herpes out there. I may meet someone who already has it. Or there are plenty of people who can understand and accept that I have this. It does not have to be deal-breaker in a dating or long-term relationship.”

INTEGRATIVE MEDICINE: A VITAL PART OF THE NEW HEALTH CARE SYSTEM
FEBRUARY 26, 2009
The American health care system urgently needs repair and reform. Today as a nation, we spend 16% of our gross domestic product on health care, more per capita than any other country in the world. Yet health outcomes of Americans are ranked 37th in the world by the World Health Organization. Our system is often called a “sick care” system, not a health care system, because it is designed to treat diseases and illnesses, instead of promoting good health and wellness over the lifespans of our people.

Genuine health reform therefore requires a major transformation in our national mindset on how we care for ourselves and others. It must incorporate and encourage disease prevention activities and lifestyle changes that promote long-term health and well-being. The current incentives in our health care system that lead to over-treatment and mistreatment must be changed to promote high-quality, appropriate, and coordinated health care. The nation’s alarmingly high and growing rates of obesity and chronic disease today are a clear call to action. By preventing diseases before they start and adopting a broader approach to medicine, we will actually reduce costs in the long run, and we will extend and improve the quality of life as we do it.

To achieve this fundamental shift in our nation’s health care mindset, it will be necessary to reform how medicine is practiced. Low cost or even free health screenings and vaccinations will encourage individuals to take part in preventive medicine. Patient-centered and coordinated care that addresses the whole person – from genetic predispositions, to life-style choices to potentially harmful conditions – is essential for treating acute diseases and managing chronic conditions.

We must also adopt a more integrated approach to medicine, through health care that addresses the mental, emotional, and physical aspects of the healing process in order to improve the depth, breadth, and patient
choice in clinical practice.

Further, we must incorporate prevention, wellness, and more patient-centered approaches as fundamental components of medical education and the training of health providers. In order to reach the patient effectively, integrative practices must be accepted throughout our health care system, and especially in the education of health care providers and the consumers who will benefit.

Finally, we can look beyond the traditional health care system to the community itself – to local environments, where we can build sidewalks and bike lanes; to workplaces, where wellness programs can help employees include healthy nutrition and exercise in their lives; and to schools, where we can provide preventive screenings and lay a strong foundation for students to lead healthy lifestyles from an early age.

Americans deserve a health care system that provides this kind of high-quality, patient-centered care, and encourages individuals’ choices and control over their health. The result, as I have said, of this new focus
on prevention and health promotion will be lower health care costs and longer, healthier lives.

I commend Senators Harkin and Mikulski for their continuing leadership on this important issue, and I look forward to working closely with my colleagues on the HELP and Finance Committees and with President Obama to achieve our fundamental goal of improving the quality of health care, expanding access to such care for all our people, and reducing the financial burden of such care.

A Medical Intuitive reading is a process in which medical intuitives, also known as medical psychic or energy intuitive assists clients to heal from dis-ease.

A Medical Intuitive reading is a process in which medical intuitives, also known as medical psychic or energy intuitive assists clients to heal from dis-ease.

Medical Intuitives became popular when Caroline Myss wrote Anatomy of the Spirit in which describes the seven stages of power and healing. Caroline Myss discovered the accuracy of her ability shortly after meeting Dr. Norm Shealy. Dr Shealy would call her with the name and age of a patient in his office and ask Caroline Myss to tell him what she saw. Caroline would describe as series of events or be pulled into a particular area of the body. Dr. Shealy would hang up the phone and work with his patient. Even though Caroline had no knowledge of medicine she was able to describe circumstance that would facilitate the healing of the patient.

Intuition became married to the word medical intuitive and now there are thousands of practitioners. Medical Intuitives come from all walks of life and have all sorts of training. Some are natural born medical psychics, others have training in massage, psychology, medicine and find that their intuition is heightened through working with people. There is even a class of intuitive who works with animals. Yes, there really are horse whisperers and dog whisperers.

Medicine is defined as the science or practice of the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease (in technical use often taken to exclude surgery). Among North American Indians and some other peoples, it is also defined as a spell, charm, or fetish believed to have healing, protective, or other power. Your Medical Intuitive reading should be done by a professional. That does not mean that they have formal medical training, but if you are seeking health advice they should at least have some training in anatomy, physiology.

Anatomy of the Spirit and current holistic works details how the mind and body are connected. A medical intuitive is not limited to the body, but reads the spirit, emotions, history and potential outcomes. In a way the title Medical Intuitive is a misnomer and should really be called an Energy Intuitive.

A Medical Intuitive Reading can take place in person, by phone or through correspondence. Edgar Cayce, who was known as a medical clairvoyant would have letters read to him while in a meditative state and respond to the health concerns of the writer. Location an proximity is not necessary for a Medical Intuitive Reading.

A Medical Intuitive does not diagnose disease unless they are physicians. Do not ask for a diagnosis. If you are dealing with health issues be sure to see your healthcare practitioner in conjunction with receiving a Medical Intuitive Reading.

You tell your intuitive what your concerns are. Even though Medical Intuitives are considered “psychics”, and that term comes with the unfounded understanding that the psychic should know before asking. This is simply not true. Your Medical Intuitive is filtering many different pieces of information. Telling your questions and concerns are the best way to get relevant information. A good analogy would be, imagine giving someone driving directions to your house. You live in California and your friend lives in Florida. You have many ways to convey the information, you could give your friend your address and tell them to google the directions. Or you could tell them take 95 to 10 go west until you hit California, then give additional directions. Another way to do this is to begin to describe every road, every tree, every store, every stop, the weather along the way and while you are at it describe what the places looked like in the past and what they are planning to build in the future. Your friend would get lost, TOO MUCH INFORMATION! A good Medical Intuitive can filter through all that information, however it may not be relevant for your particular circumstance. Help your Medical Intuitive by cutting through to the chase. Tell him or her what your concerns are and if you already have a diagnosis.

Your Medical Intuitive Reading should empower you. You should come away from it with tools to help you move forward. A Medical Intuitive is not the expert of your life, they are a guide to help you see your choices and refer you to therapies and solutions for your life.

A Medical Intuitive Reading will not tell you the future, who you should marry, when you are going to sell your house. If you want that from your Medical Intuitive I suggest you go to your local palm reader. A Medical Intuitive usually has specialized training to assist you in your life. Use it well.

A Medical Intuitive Reading is a wonderful place to start your healing, it can give you options that you had never considered or affirm options that you had. A Medical Intuitive’s job is to help guide you toward optimal health and is a part of your health care team.
